올드박스 하우스 프로젝트는 서울 통의동의 소규모 구옥을 리모델링한 오피스로, 천정을 개방해 기존 목구조가 공간의 질서를 형성하는 주요 요소로 드러나도록 계획하였습니다. 내부에는 ‘집 안의 집’ 개념의 흰색 박스를 삽입해 기능과 프로그램을 명확히 구획하면서도 서로 다른 공간 감각이 중첩되도록 설계하였습니다. 일부 복층을 도입해 제한된 면적을 수직적으로 확장하고, 업무와 휴식이 교차하는 입체적 공간 경험을 형성합니다. 주방에서 이어지는 작은 마당은 밀도 높은 골목 환경 속에서 시각적 여유와 환기를 제공하며, 제한된 조건 속에서도 공간의 깊이를 확장하는 장치로 작동하기도 합니다.

This office project renovates a small existing house in Tongui-dong, Seoul, revealing the original timber structure by opening the ceiling and allowing it to function as a primary architectural feature. A partial mezzanine expands the spatial capacity vertically, creating layered zones for work and pause. A compact courtyard at the entrance establishes a transitional buffer from the dense urban fabric, while the gray brick façade mediates between the building and its surrounding alley context.
